Traditional crafts like handweaving only exist in the moments that they are being practiced. Writing about them, recording them on video, those are good ways to document craft, but they aren't craft. For this historic equipment and centuries of skill to survive, it must be used to produce cloth that goes out into the world to be used. Craft can't be stuffed and mounted in a museum to be looked at, it needs to be out in the wild, transforming material in ways that only human hands know how. Your purchase of handwoven cloth ensures that the craft will continue, inspiring in the present and available to the future.

These bedding, table, and kitchen linens are deeply rooted right here in Vermont. Inspired by textiles woven within 100 miles of the Burroughs Farm, they're imbued with the distinct character of northern New England. Even linen damask was woven here in Vermont by Scottish and Irish trained weavers for a brief period in the early 19th century, with a linen damask loom in operation ten miles from here in the 1820s.

In contrast to a culture of throw-away consumerism, these items are functional investments made of the highest quality materials that will hold up to years of use. With proper care you'll have new heirlooms to pass down to future generations.

*Please note, many of these items are woven to order. Due to demand, current lead times range from three months to one year. I apologize for this wait time, but I am an independent handweaver, not a factory. Quality takes time.

**Orders for figured coverlets are closed due to the restoration of my Jacquard loom to weaving figured linen damask. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to offer coverlets again in the future. Please join my mailing list to be notified of new product availability
